Imagine a golden beach, the sun slowly setting, painting the sky with a thousand shades of orange and pink, and in the background, the sound of the Atlantic Ocean waves gently crashing on the shore. It’s right here in Cadiz, Spain, that Enrico Ruffa decided to plant his roots, opening a beach bar that quickly became a local legend. Enrico is not just any person. His story seems straight out of an adventure novel: one day, he decided to leave Barcelona and embark on an epic journey to Ouagadougou, riding the most unsuitable bike imaginable for such a trip: a Harley Davidson. And this wasn’t just any trip; crossing Africa from north to south is a feat that requires courage, determination, and a good dose of madness. During his incredible journey, Enrico crossed Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, and finally Burkina Faso, facing dusty roads, endless deserts, and challenges that few would dare to tackle. Once in Ouagadougou, Enrico stopped at Garage Italia, Bambini nel Deserto’s training school for young aspiring motorcycle mechanics. He stayed there for several days, during which he developed a rapport and friendship with the boys benefiting from the training project. Enrico shared his experiences with them and listened to their dreams, helping to instill in them the passion and determination to become professional mechanics, but above all, to stay in their homeland.

But who is Enrico Ruffa? He is a man on a mission. During his journey, he witnessed firsthand the reality of many struggling African communities and decided to do something concrete to help them. Thus, he embraced the cause of Bambini nel Deserto. Once back in Europe, Enrico, together with his partner Alex, created the Moana beach bar in Cadiz, the perfect place to combine his passion for good food with their humanitarian commitment. The Moana quickly became one of the main landmarks on the beach of Cadiz, attracting both locals and tourists with its welcoming atmosphere and exceptional food.

And here’s the stroke of genius: a special dish, more special than all the others. A dish that, besides being an unforgettable culinary experience, directly contributes to the realization of Bambini nel Deserto projects. A unique dish, expertly prepared with the freshest ingredients and a touch of creativity, where every bite you savor will be a contribution to building a better tomorrow across the sea.
